Inspirations in Design

I've thought often about my dream room, and with the recent remodeling of our entire house, it has the possibility of becoming a reality.(our house has been basically untouched since it was built in the 60's, and no, fixing our roof, chimmney and flooding basement do not count)
So I've had a lot to consider because in the spring we plan to paint and update all the bedrooms, and while I couldn't be more thrilled I must choose wisely. While I can't quite articulate the exact look I'm going for, Parisian,Victorian,Breezy,Artsy,Romantic and comfortable discribe the general look I want. This look is better exemplified by pictures, so I've been amassing a great collection in an inspiration board kind of way. Probably longer then it should be, but I got a little carried away...Feedback,other inspirations or websites you can refer me to to make this a reality?

I am in love with this setup, everything from the sheets to the headboard and furniture exemplify the breezy, parisian romance combo I want to bring to my room
Statin and texturized pillows add luxury to the room

Wall of Pictures- this is a must in my room, I'm planning to frame my black&white pictures I took in photography, all of varying sizes, in plain black frames and mount them on the wall above my bed
There is something exceptionally glamorous about feathers, mismatched perfume bottles and gold accents

The worn mantle and silver pieces  are pefectly complimentary.
Old style Paris, need I say more.
Classy and chic tulle

Life doesn't always go as planned

Wound up going as a peacock for Halloween once I realized that being a good Lady Gaga-and I never do things halfway- would require a lot of money and more planning then I had anticipated. Super bummed, I had debated what to be until the Thursday before Halloween, when I saw this peacock mask and matching fan which I wore as a tail. It was quite a large mask, but super fun to wear, a cross between an exotic bird and a masquerade. I wore it to a Halloween party  and again when I took my little sis out trick or treating with her friends.

Hungry for Apples

Song du jour-21 Guns (Green Day ft. Cast of American Idiot)
It finally struck me today that it truly is Fall, and already the middle of October. It's an obvious sort of observation but a surprising one nontheless.

Not sure how you feel Fall arrive if you live in say, Florida, but in the Northeast, you definatly notice the day when you can no longer get away with wearing a skirt without leggings and a jacket becomes a must-have in the mornings. Apparently, its snuck up on me this year and when I discovered that certain crispness in the air that characterizes Fall, it made me want to go apple picking. For real. I honestly don't think I've been apple picking since a second grade field trip, which clearly means I'm due for one soon. Already excited thinking about it, and as it is october 13th already, I'm going to have to get cracking on a Halloween costume idea. Thinking Lady Gaga, that should be fun :)

Gleefully

Song du jour- Anyway You Want It/Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'(Glee Cast)
I'm a total Gleek, I'll confess and if you are a Glee skeptic, watch an episode, any episode, and you will be hooked. It is the one and only show I follow regularly (although I do Tivo the Mentalist) and well worth the weekly wait. The variety of music and the simply amazing voices that perform it would probably be enough for me to be an addict even without the intricate plotline. Theres everything from a love triangle and an inter-teacher war to real life issues such as being gay, social pressure and faith in something bigger then yourself.

Oh yeah, and then theres Jane Lynch who plays the role of cheerleader coach Sue Sylvester. The show is worth  watching simply for her hilarious straight face delivery of lines like "
''I will no longer be carrying around photo ID. Know why? People should know who I am.''
''I'm all about empowerment. I empower my Cheerios to live in a state of constant fear by creating an environment of irrational, random terror.''

So at 7:59 tonight  I'll be curled up on the couch with pretzels and a mug of hot chocolate, ready to watch the most addicting show ever. If your evening plans aren't the same, I invite you to join the Gleeks of America in watching it.
